As I was setting up this blog, I started out with Wordpress 2.5 RC1 (Release Candidate 1). However, I faced a major issue with the new media uploading features that they have provided in 2.5; it failed to upload any media (I was trying audio). With some search, I stumbled on WP Support Forums and found that a few others were facing the same problem.

Finally, today, a working solution was posted. Thanks to Philip Barron for coming up with the solution here.

I had been trying to find this one song from the movie Guru - Shauk Hai - it plays in the background as the theme music of the character played by Vidya Balan. The song is composed by the music maestro A.R. Rehman. Unfortunately, it was not included in the soundtrack of the movie, and it was not available anywhere on the Internet either - just one blog mentioned the song back then.

But I finally found this song, thanks to this leading to this, which revealed that the song has been released by Sony BMG in a compilation album of A. R. Rehman: AR Rehman Greatest Hits! Thank you Rehman sahab for this beautiful, magical song and thank you Sony BMG for (finally) releasing this song!

This track is truly magical! The song is about the desires of a person who is counting her days and who requires someone’s help for everything, as she is suffering from multiple sclerocis. She wants to break from all this, reach out to her desires and aspirations. She knows her fate, but she doesnt want to be depressed. It is essentially meant to bring out that “longing” feel, but without the sadness. ARR captures this mood perfectly in the song, with the lyrics adding to the beauty. The piano chords running throughout the song, add to the simple but elegant beauty of the song.

This is, without doubt, one of his all time best songs!!! It is a pity, this masterpiece wasn’t released with the Audio CD of Guru!!

So, I have finally inaugurated my website by setting up this blog. There are lots of things that I have felt like sharing with the world. I have been sharing them with a pseudo name - an Internet nick name - on other blogs that I setup, and now defunct, elsewhere. But, it was about time that I started writing and publishing my stuff with my real name.

I wanted to give all my writings, my musings, my creative endeavors, my opinions and my rants, a tangible identity … an identity of a real person.

So here it is - Zenning my way out!
